Coffee made in the Neapolitan Moka "Cuccumella" has a particular flavour with an aroma that is less intense but more complex in flavour than pressure brewed espresso.
Unlike a moka pot, a Cuccumella does not use the pressure of steam to force the water through the coffee, relying instead on gravity.
The Neapolitan coffee maker "Cuccumella" is formed by four elements that are all mounted together and interlock with one another:
The tank with the handle and a small hole.
The container for ground coffee.
The metal filter.
The jug with which the coffee is poured with a handle that fits into the tank.
The water and ground coffee are filled into the pot, and placed on the stovetop. When the water comes to a boil you have to remove the pot from the heat and turn it upside down.
The water drops down through the coffee, giving an infusion of delicate and soft body.
Made in Italy.
Aluminium construction. Suitable for gas, electric and radiant heat cooktops. Requires induction adapter for use on induction cooktop.
